If the hard drive or media involved in the disaster is submerged in water do not dry it off. Keep the media submerged. Water, especially salt water, drying on the platters of a hard drive can leave residue and be detrimental to a successful recovery.
Do not try to start the drive up, especially if it has been under water or in a fire. This will only make our job much more difficult.
Fill out our online data recovery forms to ship in with your damaged media.
If the media has been under water place it in a water tight bag submerged in water so it will not dry off, pack it in a box twice the size of the media, and fill with packing material such as bubble wrap or styrofoam peanuts. Click here for hard drive packaging and shipping instructions.
Ship the media to Flashback Data at the address listed in the service agreement. Overnight Service is recommend. Flashback Data is not responsible for damage to media in transit.
